About the Role

We have an exciting opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced person to join a team that’s changing the lives of youth and family members in our community.

The Manager Youth and Family is responsible for the operational and strategic leadership, management and development of the youth and family team and programs. The position is also responsible for delivering a range of case work, course and community programs for vulnerable young people, families and school communities in close collaboration with community partners. The Manager Youth and Family Services will ensure that services effectively respond to current and evolving community needs.

Selection Criteria

Essential:

  • Tertiary qualification in Social Work or related field
  • Strong leadership and management skills and knowledge within a complex service delivery environment; and the ability to build a strong, high functioning team, in alignment with organisational values and goals
  • Significant experience in the leadership and development of programs and services in a complex environment
  • Proven experience using a case management and co-ordination approach when working with young people and their families
  • Experience co-designing, developing and evaluating programs and services with participants and communities
  • Strong negotiation and influencing skills
  • The ability to engage, collaborate and build strong, mutually beneficial relationships with a range stakeholders
  • Proven ability to take a solution-focused and strengths-based approach within a complex, ambiguous and evolving community services environment

Must have:

  • Current driver’s license and comprehensively insured vehicle
  • A current (less than 12 months old) criminal record check and a working with children check

Desirable:

  • Tertiary qualifications in Management & Leadership would be highly regarded
