Youth and Family Services

What are Youth & Family Services?

Our Youth and Family Services aim to strengthen relationships and community connection through encouraging and inspiring participants to make the changes they want for themselves, their family and their community.

Who is it for?

Young people aged 12-17 years and/or their parent/carer who are residents of the Tweed, Byron and Ballina Shires. There is no cost for this service.

How do we support young people & their families?

Young people and families are supported either as a family or individually.

We identify participant’s strengths and develop goals that specify how they would like things to be. Once goals are identified we work together to create a support plan, outlining how we can assist participants to achieve their goals.

The support plan is driven by the needs of the young person and/or their family and can include: advise, relationships and parenting skills development, providing information about services and helping to access those services.

We also provide a range courses and other support options for young people in schools and the community and parenting courses for parents/carers.

When & where

Youth and Family workers can meet with young people and families at our centres in Tweed Heads, Tweed Heads South, Murwillumbah, Ballina or in schools, homes and other agreed locations.

In school courses for young people are delivered in local primary and high schools. Other courses for young people and parenting courses are provided at various locations. See our course program here for details.
